SANY Cranes Make Twin Pick
Shortly after taking delivery of two new SANY lattice-boom crawler cranes, with lifting capacities of 50- and 100-ton capacities, 5J Trucking, an oilfield services provider, put them to the test in October with a twin lift in Texas’ Permian Basin. The pick required lifting a 142-foot, 90,000-pound derrick on the Pioneer 14 oil rig.
“The 50- and 100-ton crawlers worked perfectly in tandem with each other,” said Marty Benton, assistant terminal manager with 5J’s West Texas Division.
“These are very strong machines, and we can tell they were made for this kind of work.”
At SANY America, Kyle Nape, vice president of sales and marketing, said his team is privileged to be working with 5J Trucking.
“They’re the kind of company who tells you straight what needs to be done and what needs to be made better,” said Nape. “We were happy to hear how well they like our cranes.”
