Much like Caterpillar (regular and GC excavators) and Deere ("Performance tiers") before them, Bobcat announced at Conexpo that it will put out two versions of the same machines, compact track loaders and skid steers, with "Classic" and "Pro" monikers.

Each will contain features aimed at specific groups of operators.

As you can guess, the Bobcat Pro CTLs and skid steers will have more features and therefore be at a higher price point. Classic models will cost less and have fewer bells and whistles.

Tackling tomorrow's workforce

Bobcat cited AEM data that holds a shift in the industry will see 41% of the U.S. construction workforce retire by 2031, so it is aims to provide solutions to support operators of every experience level through intuitive controls, simplified operation, and smarter systems.

The company is realigning its lineup with the two categories.

The Classic and Pro breakdown

Bobcat says the Classic will provide operators with "proven performance and familiar controls," as well as "competitive" pricing.

The Classic CTL models will include the T450, T595, T650, and T770. Classic skid steer models are S70, S450, S590, S650, and S770.

Bobcat SVP of construction equipment Brad Claus said operators benefit from classic Bobcat controllability using either selectable joystick controls or optional hand and foot controls, along with two-speed travel, automatic ride control, keyless ignition, and a deluxe display with optional integrated rear camera.

"Classic models are dependable, reliable, and controllable models our customers have used for quite some time," Claus said. "We want to be very specific and purposeful about who those customers are.

"In the coming years, we're going to see more less-qualified operators, so we wanted to take a big step foward with the operator environment," Claus said. "So, on the Pro models, there are touchscreen displays, user friendly controls, and features the customer can use to adapt to their style."

On the Pro side of the ledger, the CTLs and skid steers will feature "future-ready innovation" to the job site with control, performance, and technology advancements.

For CTLs, the Pro models will be the T64-2, T66-2, T76-2, and T86-2. Pro skid steer models will be the S64-2, S66-2, S76-2, and S86-2.

Pro skid steer and compact track loader features

Bobcat Pro models include four drive modes with control software designed to deliver greater precision and responsiveness tailored to operator preference and application. The modes are as follows.

  • Balanced: Smooth, predictable response for precise work that requires steady control—ideal for grading, material placement and confined job sites.
  • Agile: A versatile mode designed for everyday operation, providing responsive control across a wide range of tasks and mixed applications.
  • Dynamic: Sharper acceleration and quicker response for high‑productivity work where faster cycle times and confident control are essential.
  • Charged: Maximum responsiveness and speed for experienced operators working in open areas, enabling high-productivity work with precise control.

Other improvements include strategic weight reductions and structural optimizations designed to increase agility while maintaining performance. Also, the electrical systems have been redesigned.

Bobcat has also upped the operator experience with refreshed interiors, heated air‑ride seats, added storage, and an intuitive 8‑inch touchscreen display with infotainment and an integrated rear camera.

Skid steer and compact track loader high-tech options

Bobcat is introducing new integrated technology options designed to further simplify operation, elevate job site awareness, and help operators of every skill level work more confidently and efficiently.

Jobsite Companion is an AI-enabled solution and its new job site awareness suite of operator-awareness tools is powered by camera- and radar-based technologies.

Available as an option on Pro loaders in the U.S., Jobsite Companion simplifies machine operation with voice commands, automated attachment settings, and real-time jobsite insights, allowing operators to keep hands on the controls while automating more than 50 machine functions.

For managers, its built-in job cost dashboard turns hours into insight by tracking operation cost compared to job estimates to improve profit.

Also available as optional features on Pro loaders in the U.S. and Canada, Bobcat is introducing operator-awareness technology options through camera- and radar-based systems.

Bobcat View camera options are available on Pro loaders, offering either a rear view or a broad‑area view that covers the rear and sides of the machine.

Bobcat is also introducing Bobcat Sense Detection Systems, which offers two additional detection options:

  • Rear Object Detection and Avoidance: A radar-based system that detects objects and people behind the machine and can alert the operator or automatically slow or stop the loader.
  • 360 People Detection: This camera-based system identifies and alerts operators to the presence of people around the machine without intervening in machine motion.

“This launch isn’t just about new machines, it’s about how people work,” Claus said. “By giving operators more choice, more control, and smarter technology, we’re building equipment that adapts alongside the workforce and the job sites of tomorrow.”
