They’re Breaking a World Record at Conexpo. We’re Breaking Coverage Limits.
If you’ve been to Conexpo before, you’ve no doubt seen things you’ve never seen before. Things you cannot unsee. The 2026 Conexpo promises the same. In fact, the show will open with a eye-catcher/jaw-dropper combo — thousands of construction professionals all wearing high-visibility safety vests. According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (the organization in charge of this only-every-three-year event), Conexpo will attempt to set a Guiness World Record mark for the most people wearing high-visibility vests in one place. The record attempt will take place March 3, during opening ceremonies at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The current benchmark stands at 2,499 people. Conexpo organizers expect to blow past that number. According to the press release:
“This record attempt is more than a number — it’s a celebration of the advances, hard work, innovation, and dedication of everyone in the construction industry,” said Dana Wuesthoff, Show Director of Conexpo. “We want to honor those who build our cities, roads, railways, airports, stadiums, and monuments and highlight how their efforts touch every aspect of society. This record is particularly important to us as safety is and always will be of utmost priority for the industry and the people who make this work possible.”
Can I participate?
Yes! You can. Attendees and exhibitors are encouraged to show up. You can bring your own day-glow vest to support the importance of safety in construction, but participants will also receive commemorative safety vests from this historic gathering. High-vis gear remains one of the most recognizable symbols of construction. It represents visibility, accountability, and protection across jobsites. This is a cool way to set the tone for the week. As a reminder: Conexpo runs March 3-7 and brings nearly 140,000 attendees and more than 2,000 exhibitors to Las Vegas every three years. This record attempt gives the show a fun starting line. What Construction Equipment is chasing at Conexpo
Construction Equipment will be on-site for the entire show. I get in Sunday, and I won’t be leaving till Friday afternoon. Our goal mirrors the moment — maximum coverage. While the show opens with a Guinness World Record attempt, our team will chase a different goal: record-level coverage. We will produce nonstop video, social, and editorial content all week, from booth walkaround interviews and shortform vertical videos to time-warp booth walkthroughs and a full Conexpo experience recap. We will capture b-roll, record interviews, and publish fast social updates after key press conferences and launches. At the same time, we will gather audio and insights to fuel post-show features and trend stories. The goal is simple: document the machines, the technology, and the people shaping construction. It’s going to be an exciting week, and (oh boy) it’s nearly here.
Now, I’m packing my safety vest too.
