Caterpillar has updated is M Series medium wheel loaders, models 950M through 982M, with new and improved features.
Loaders have Tier 4-F engines, enabling change intervals to move from 500 to 1,000 hours for engine oil, engine oil filter, and hydraulic oil filter. Upgraded seats include comfort, deluxe, and premium plus versions, and a new suspension on deluxe and premium plus increases dampening at the top and bottom of seat travel, the company says.
Cat Advanced Productivity application, accessed from VisionLink, includes a report dashboard, cycle-by-cycle downloadable data, and a list of features for truck and material identification lists. Machine software update files can now be pushed to the machines via Product Link.
The Advansys ground-engaging-tool system includes a tip system designed for less drag and higher productivity. The new tip shapes place wear-resistant material in the most vulnerable areas, resulting in significantly longer service life, the company says. A stronger adapter nose results in up to 50 percent less stress, and improved adapter-nose geometry reduces sliding wear on adapter surfaces.
