Caterpillar 330 Excavators

Nov. 7, 2018

Caterpillar 330 excavator and 330 GC excavator have operating weights of 68,125 and 67,460 pounds, respectively, with horsepower ratings of 275 and 204, respectively. The Cat 330 excavator comes standard with integrated Cat Connect technology, including Cat Grade with 2D,  Grade Assist, Cat Payload, E-fence, and Cat Link.

Fuel consumption is up to 20 percent lower than the predecessor 330F. Smart mode matches engine and hydraulic power to digging conditions, and engine speed is automatically lowered when hydraulic demand disappears. A new main control valve eliminates the need for pilot lines, reduces pressure losses, and lowers fuel consumption. Auto-reversing electric fans independently monitor hydraulic oil, radiator, and air-to-air aftercooler temperatures to deliver the exact airflow required.

A 14,770-pound counterweight enables the 330 to lift nearly 10 percent more than the 330F, and increased swing pressure, a larger swing drive, and larger swing bearing deliver 5 percent more swing torque over the previous series.
