Improvements abound on Case CX B Series excavators. The machines feature up to a 17 percent increase in horsepower thanks to electronically controlled, common rail Tier 3 engines. In addition, fuel efficiency has increased 20 percent. Because of those two factors, plus an increase in hydraulic flow, the company says the new models move 25 percent more cubic yards of material per gallon of fuel. Maintainability and serviceability have been improved 39 percent as measured by the SAE maintenance score. In addition to numerous cab enhancements for operator comfort, noise levels decreased — both inside and outside the cab. Estimated list price range: $194,600 to $324,300.
