Bosch Safe & Sound system

The Safe & Sound system provides a tool-tracking and anti-theft resource. The system uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, which, unlike bar-code labels, cannot be damaged, rendered unreadable or removed, says Bosch. Customers may purchase the company's power tools with product and serial-number information already burned to RFID tags secured inside the tools; or the company can provide a list of corresponding serial and product numbers for tools in the customer's current inventory, along with RFID tags with the serial and product number burned in for insertion. Currently, Safe & Sound offers 70 RFID tagged tools, complete with product and serial numbers.
