BOMAG BVP 12/50 A plate compactor is designed and equipped for asphalt compaction

The BOMAG BVP 12/50 A single-direction vibratory-plate compactor is specifically designed and equipped for asphalt compaction, says BOMAG, expanding the machine’s use beyond conventional soil compaction. The BVP 12/50 A, with an operating weight of less than 160 pounds, features a cast-iron base plate designed to avoid asphalt-material pushing, shoving, and scuffing. A single, balanced lifting point facilitates movement around the job site. The compactor’s standard sprinkler system, with removable 1.8-gal water tank, prevents asphalt material from sticking to the base plate, which measures 19.7 x 20.9 inches. The new model has a working speed of up to 82 feet/minute, with an amplitude of 0.043 inches and centrifugal force of 2,698 pounds.

Engine is 3.5-horsepower. Honda GX120 gas model that meets CARB Phase III emission standards.; the 0.5-gallon fuel tank is sized foe up to 2.5 hours of uninterrupted operation. Rubber-buffer mounting of the engine is designed to minimizes damaging vibration feedback to the engine and to extend service life. A low-oil alert automatically stops the engine. A hinged handle includes rubber mounts to minimize vibration transmitted to the operator’s hands and arms. The V-belt guard fully encloses the belt’s movement to protect the operator from injury, and the enclosed design prevents material from entering the chamber.
