Bobcat S740 Skid Steer New to Lineup

June 17, 2015

The vertical-lift Bobcat S740 skid steer loader is a new model for Bobcat, equipped with a Tier 4-Final engine that, at 74 horsepower, does not require a DPF or SCR technology. With the same operating weight as the 85-horsepower S750, the loader has a rated operating capacity of 3,100 pounds—100 pounds less than the S750—and a tipping load of 6,200 pounds—200 pounds less.

Bobcat meets Tier 4-F requirements with a DOC and an ultra-low particulate combustion (ULPC) engine.

The Bobcat S740 has a cab-forward design that moves the operator closer to the attachment and provides visibility in all directions, the company says. Windows on the sides, rear and top of the cab are large for more visibility to the tires and back of the machine, the company says.

The auxiliary quick couplers are mounted directly to the front plate of the lift arm to provide a solid mounting, and hoses are routed through the loader arms for better protection. A guard bar extends in the front of the coupler for added protection.
