Atlas Copco Waterwell Drill

December 2, 2011

The Series III T2W waterwell drill rig is a single-engine rig for rotary and down-the-hole drilling in the 30,000-pound class. Designed for both air and mud applications, it includes an on-board 900/350 air compressor. The rig carries up to 12 rods in the carousel at 3.5 inches, and has swing in/swing out back load capability for single-person operation. A rig-mounted rod box carries another 12 rods for a total depth capacity of 480 feet. An optional 15,000-pound winch matches the pullback of the rig, so the operator can trip out of the hole with the winch or the head. Two three-speed options are available for the head. A gear-driven head constructed with oversized gears, shafts and bearings is offered for large torque applications, and a smaller, less complex hydraulic vane-driven head is offered for lower torque operation. An optional 500 horsepower engine is available, and selection between drill and drive mode is made through a split-shaft PTO drive system.
