The previously manual brakes are replaced with new automatic hydraulic brakes: When pressure goes down, the roller brakes automatically; if pressure goes up, the brakes are released. The LP6505 also is equipped with new scrapers to avoid material sticking on the drums, the company says. A hydraulic oil cooler controls the temperature in hot environments. Advantages to keeping the temperature down, according to Atlas Copco, are reducing wear on components, increasing the battery lifetime, and protecting polymer items such as seals and rubber to retain their functions and prevent leaks.
