In a June 24 interview on E&E TV's "On Point," American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) President & CEO Pete Ruane highlighted the launch of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Americans for Transportation Mobility (ATM) coalition’s "FasterBetterSafer" campaign and the major issues relating to the 2009 highway/transit bill, outlined ARTBA’s "Critical Commerce Corridors" (3C) national goods movement proposal, and discussed the need to develop a federally-led strategic transportation plan to help ensure the U.S. remains globally competitive given the massive infrastructure investments already under way in China, India, Russia and European Union.  Ruane also underscored the importance of making transportation infrastructure investment a central issue in the upcoming presidential and congressional campaigns.
