JCB has never hesitated to bring unique machines to market. The Hydradig, the Teleskid, and the one-armed skid steer loader come to mind.
The JCB Pothole Pro is a specialized machine built on a Hydradig/wheeled excavator chassis that is equipped with a side-shifting two-foot planer with hydraulic depth control, a 16-inch cropping tool on a 360-degree tiltrotator to help provide a uniform hole profile and work around obstacles, and a four-foot-wide sweeper collector with dust supression to clean the area up.
Its goal is to reduce the number of machines and the manpower needed to maintain streets.
JCB product manager for large excavators and wheel loaders, James McMillan, takes ConstructionEquipment through not only the pothole repair function, but also the rest of the tasks the machine can handle. You may be surprised.
