Vermeer CTX50 Skid Steer Loader

March 6, 2015

The CTX50 mini skid steer from Vermeer features vertical-lift boom arms, which keep the load closer to the machine during lifting and thus increase lift capacity, says the company, compared with similarly sized machines with a radial lift path. The new model has a 600-pound operating capacity (ISO-rated), a tipping capacity of 1,715 pounds and a full-lift height of 72 inches. The CTX50 uses a 25-horsepower Kohler Command PRO gasoline engine with electronic fuel injection and has a 4-pump hydraulic system; two pumps power the track drive motors, and two provide flow for boom lift, bucket tilt and auxiliary hydraulic functions. Powering specific functions with dedicated pumps, says Vermeer, allows the machine to be more productive than if fewer pumps were used. Features include a single pilot-operated joystick, 7-inch-wide rubber tracks, high-mounted track sprockets, stand-on operator’s platform and a universal-style coupler for attachments.
