The Common Ground Alliance for Damage Prevention (CGA) will hold a free informational summit about several topics related to preventing damage to underground utilities on February 12 at the office of Ruekert & Mielke, W233 N2080 Ridgeview Parkway, Waukesha, WI 53188.
The summit, which starts at 1:00 p.m., is open to anyone interested in preventing damage to underground utilities, but the CGA asks that attendees register by February 6.
Summit topics will include: DIRT, the damage-information reporting tool; the impact of 811 on underground damage prevention; updates on local damage-prevention initiatives; a federal perspective from the Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration; a presentation about the emerging role of GPS in Wisconsin by George Glocka of R.A. Smith National; and a panel discussion with representatives from excavators, utilities, engineering firms, municipal government, and locator services.
Khrysanne Kerr of the national CGA organization will attend and present the DIRT program.
CGA of Wisconsin co-chairs Saul Lopez of We Energies and Darren Muljo of Musson Brothers, Inc. will open the program.
