He was working at the construction site near Miller Avenue and Red Oak Road.

Reminder, of Taylor, was a father of two, according to a GoFundMe benefiting family. He was also engaged to his partner of 21 years, according to an obituary published by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors in Milford.

“Dave was the kind of person who made everyone feel like family,” the GoFundMe reads. “Whether it was with his warm smile, his selfless heart, or his willingness to help anyone in need, he left a lasting impact on everyone he met.”

The GoFundMe has raised a little more than $500.

“His sudden passing has left an unimaginable void in the lives of everyone who knew and loved him,” it reads.

Reminder’s death was the fourth construction-related incident to cause injury or death in Washtenaw and Livingston counties this year.

A 47-year-old Flint man died around 6:45 p.m. June 16 when the tire of his dump truck blew while he was going south on U.S. 23, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The truck then ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Gary Nikkila, 64, was hit April 15 while reconnecting the front trailer of his gravel hauler to the rear trailer near Pauline Boulevard and Hutchins Avenue in Ann Arbor.

Two men were critically injured June 6 in Livingston County when a concrete spreader hit a primary power line, causing it to break and fall, according to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
