Wacker Neuson introduced six compact wheel loaders to the U.S. market, four of which are articulated units with a compact design, high breakout forces, and lower fuel consumption. The other two units are all-wheel-steer models, which provide consistent payload, improved stability, and tight turning radius. According to the company, the wheel loaders can perform the same tasks as a higher-powered skid steer loader, but deliver up to 30-percent fuel savings. The articulated units come in 1.8- to 5-metric-ton models, and are able to lift from 1,640 to 6,870 pounds. All-wheel-steer models include 3.2- and 4.5-metric-ton versions with 49 and 66 horsepower, respectively. Estimated list price: $26,000 to $64,000.
