Top 100: Recyclers Cut Debris to Size

Sept. 28, 2010

Bandit's Beast Recyclers use a horizontal-feed cutter mill to cut and split material instead of pounding it apart like a hammer mill. Initial breakdown occurs at the end of the conveyor—not against an anvil. Four models ranging from 275 to 999 horsepower will take on stumps, shingles and asphalt, brush, whole trees, pallets, railroad ties and telephone poles, housing demolition, palm trees, and more. A variety of teeth and screens produce end products of various sizes and consistencies. Unique tooth holders are protected from debris by a prominent leading edge. Estimated list price: $166,000 to $470,000.
