Driver Pleads Guilty in Construction Accident
Rolando Rodriguez pled guilty to striking a construction worker in Ohio as part of a plea agreement. According to a report by WKYC.com, the man pled guilty to one count of aggravated vehicular assault and one count of having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.
Rodriguez is accused of striking Richard Szymkowski as he was setting up a work zone on Interstate 90 in Cleveland in June 2023. Szymkowski was hospitalized with serious injuries, including a skull fracture, according to the report.
The accident occurred in the early morning, and Rodriguez is accused of leaving the scene. Police were able to track down the vehicle and Rodriguez using vehicle parts left at the scene and video from the Ohio Department of Transportation.
