Topcon X62

Sept. 28, 2010

Topcon added the X62 and the X42 excavating control solutions at $20,000 and $17,000, respectively, to make basic laser grade control of excavators more affordable. The X62 includes core sensor infrastructure to precisely track bucket-tooth position, so it can easily be upgraded to three-dimensional GPS control (for about $40,000). Operators interact with the system via the GX-60 touch-screen graphical display. The X42 supplies basic indication of bucket-cutting-edge depth. The new GX-40 graphical display has a keypad, and a detachable light bar indicates the grade. An optional LS-B10W laser receiver can be added to both units for about $1,700, enabling the systems to read a constant laser benchmark.
