Electrics to Light Up Conexpo 2023

Nov. 22, 2022
Look for electric prototypes and already available electric equipment

Conexpo promises to be the most electric so far, and that’s not just marketing kitsch: It’s a true statement reflective of manufacturers’ eagerness to show their electric equipment.

In the almost three years since Conexpo 2020, the development (and promotion) of electric equipment, as well as battery and technology partnerships, has been nearly nonstop.

“This show is once every three years,” says Stephen Roy, president of Volvo Construction Equipment North America. “The technology shifts since the 2020 show are quite significant. And I think being there face-to-face helps secure a true sense of where the industry is going."

Attendees this year will see more than hybrids and more than prototypes. They will see electric machines identical to those out in the field logging test hours for eventual refinement, and they’ll also see units for sale right now in North America.

What follows is a small sampling of what attendees can expect to encounter in Las Vegas March 14-18. Be assured there will be more OEMs plugging (in) their wares than mentioned here.
