The Hamm HDO90V is based on the double-drum vibratory platform of the company's proven HD90, but incorporates an innovative design twist: The front drum uses conventional, vertical vibratory action, but the rear drum uses Hamm's Oscillatory Compaction System, which creates horizontal compaction forces. This hybrid system, says Hamm, is "non-aggressive," thus eliminating the concern of over-compaction. Benefits claimed for the new system include higher densities in fewer passes and the ability to compact at lower temperatures. Estimated list price: $130,000.
