Lifeguard RollTek

Introduced at World of Concrete, the LifeGuard RollTek system on Oshkosh S-Series front-discharge mixers represents the first integration of a rollover protection system on a concrete mixer. Originally developed in 2003, RollTek protects drivers by deploying advanced seatbelt technology in sync with integrated airbags during a rollover accident. A sensor inside the cab monitors the truck's stability and, if it detects an imminent rollover, it initiates three events within a quarter of a second — tightening the driver's seatbelt, pulling down the suspension seat, and inflating a side airbag to cushion head impact.
