Powered by re-engineered Tier 3 Isuzu engines, Link-Belt X2 series excavators are billed as being the most fuel efficient excavators on the market and more productive in trenching and truck-loading applications. The engine uses a common rail fuel injection system that provides up to 10 percent more hydraulic horsepower. Two-speed boom lifting and arm open/close functions work with hydraulic-system regeneration for faster cycle times, the company says. The series includes Link-Belt 160 X2, 210 X2, 240 X2, and 290 X2 — ranging in operating weight from 37,700 to 65,700 pounds.
