Ice Slicer Interesting Alternative To Traditional Road Salt

By Mike Larson | September 28, 2010

Anyone who is having problems finding traditional sodium chloride road salt will be interested in this week's story - Alternative Anti-Icer May Ease Road-Salt Shortage.

It reports about an alternative product that uses a different salt and reportedly melts ice as well as or better than the widely used white salt, which has been in short supply over the past couple of years.

I've been told (but have not verified) that some users of the new stuff, called Ice Slicer, are covering the same area as they did with white salt while using a much smaller volume of the new product.

For anyone having trouble getting common road salt, it might be worth checking out.
