A plan from a group of Senate Republicans proposes to spend $928 billion on infrastructure projects. The plan includes using previously authorized spending on coronavirus relief to help fund the plan.
Six Republicans Senators, headed by Senator Shelley Moore Capito, put forth the plan.
The plan includes $506 billion for roads, bridges, and other projects; $72 billion for water systems; $56 billion for airports; and $65 billion for broadband.
The plan would spend more than a previous Republican plan, but is less than President Biden’s current $1.7 trillion plan.
At issue continues to be the two sides’ definition of “infrastructure.”
