The Wall Street Journal reports that the percentage of workers testing positive for marijuana was up in 2020.
In states where the drug is legal, some employers are removing the test from their drug screening processes, according to the report, citing the hospitality and restaurant industries.
More safety-oriented industries, such as construction, are not easing processes, the paper reports. In the trucking industry, for example, a federal database contains 70,000 truck drivers who have had positive drug tests, most of whom remain outside the available workforce, it says.
