All Crane Rental Program Puts GCs in Control

April 30, 2020

All Crane’s shared equipment program (SEP) lets a project’s general contractor act as the primary renter of equipment, then rent the equipment as needed to its subcontractors. According to All Crane, the program eliminates waste and cuts costs.

When multiple subcontractors arrange for their own equipment, according to All Crane, it creates redundancy and waste, which it says can be as much as one-third of total project cost. The practice also adds a level of congestion to job sites where space is a premium, which can affect everything from traffic to safety.

The SEP supports the equipment with mechanics who conduct regular maintenance to keep machines in “rent-ready” condition as they change hands between subcontractors.
