The Decorative Concrete Council (DCC), a specialty council of the American Society of Concrete Contactors, St. Louis, held its Decorative Concrete EXPO April 3–5 in Phoenix. The event featured speakers and demonstrations focused on the decorative concrete industry.
A highlight of the EXPO was a demonstration of stamping and coloring pervious concrete (a mix of coarse aggregate, cement, water and little or no sand). This mixture creates an open-cell structure, allowing rainwater to filter through to underlying soil.
More seminars and demonstrations of decorative concrete and concrete flatwork will be offered at the ASCC Annual Conference in San Antonio, September 11–14, 2008.
