Hobart designed its new Rocket 7024 E-7024 stick electrode for weldability and productivity, delivering high deposition rate and travel speeds in SMAW (shielded metal arc welding). It is particularly suited for flat and horizontal welding, including plate, tank and construction equipment fabrication. It is said to completely release slag, minimizing post-weld chipping or grinding. Hobart claims Rocket 7024 electrodes also produce less spatter than competitive 7024 electrodes, and maintain a smooth, flat weld bead profile through moderate dirt and rust. Designed for DCEN, AC, or DCEP welding, Rocket 7024 electrodes are available in 1/8-, 5/32-, 3/16-, 7/32- and ¼-inch diameters.
