The redesign of the job-proven GHP-2800 slipform paver goes far beyond installing an emissions-compliant, 335-hp Caterpillar diesel, says GOMACO. Fresh design elements for the New Generation model range from the G21 digital operating system to a more efficient, quieter cooling package, to vibrator modules that tilt to facilitate transport. The company says its G21 system adds a new dimension of operator-friendly control, enhancing paving accuracy and diagnostics, while providing a ready interface for 3-D and laser technology. "Smart cylinders" on the four-track model can be "taught" to maintain clearance in tight paving situations. Estimated list prices are $525,000 for the four-track model and $450,000 for the two-track version.
