Two wheel loader sizes have been updated by Komatsu to serve the utility, construction and government markets. Powered by a Tier-3-compliant Komatsu SAA4D107E-1 engine generating 126 net horsepower, the new WA200-6 model offers a heaped bucket capacity ranging from 2.2 to 3.1 cubic yards. The WA250-6, with its SAA6D107E-1 engine generating 138 horsepower, has a 2.5- to 3.5-cubic-yard bucket capacity range. Replacing corresponding Dash-5 models, both new Komatsu wheel loaders incorporate a hydrostatic transmission system that allocates only the power needed for a given application. Engine power is transmitted hydraulically to a transfer case, then mechanically to the differentials and four driving wheels. The loaders are equipped with the latest Komtrax wireless fleet-monitoring technology.
