The TA300 articulated dump truck has a ZF EP320 transmission that improves fuel efficiency by 5 percent over its predecessor. It has eight forward gears, four reverse, higher overall gear ratio spread, equal steps between gears, and optimized gear shifting with partial load shifts.
The 30-ton ADT also has true independent front suspension. Maximum speed has been increased to 34 mph, from 31.
Other features include automatic shifting with manual override, a hydraulic integral retarder, and a hydraulic power-shift longitudinal differential lock. Long-life transmission fluid increases oil-maintenance intervals from 1,000 to 4,000 hours.
