Caterpillar introduced three excavators to launch the D-Series line. Key features include more powerful Tier-3 ACERT engines, increased hydraulic pressure, spacious cab, and new styling. The 188-net-hp Cat C7 in the 324D L (54,660 pounds) is 12 percent more powerful than the 322C it replaces. The 325D L has a 204-hp C7, and the 330D L's (79,700 pounds) 268-hp C9 is 9 percent more powerful than the 330C. They all feature an exclusive Tool Control System, which allows operators to program up to 10 work tools' flows and pressures. Estimated list price: $275,000–$450,000.
