Bobcat K-Seriesloaders are cooled with a variable-speed, hydraulically driven cooling fan that Bobcat says runs 30 percent quieter and requires less fuel. SmartFAN is part of the loader's dual-path cooling system, which brings in cool air from above and through the engine and hydraulic oil coolers. Then it's mixed with air in the engine compartment and exhausted out the side. Drive chains were upgraded to 120 HSOC from 100 HSOC on the large-frame loaders in the series. This makes the bowtie-style chains 38 percent stronger, Bobcat says. Estimated list price: $23,000–$54,000.
