Centrifugal Force up 40 Percent*

Sept. 28, 2010

The three models in Bomag's BW145-3 Series now feature dual amplitude settings and a higher vibration frequency (2,040 vpm) than their predecessor models. This design yields a high-amplitude centrifugal force of 22,500 pounds—40 percent more than the displaced models. These basic enhancements are combined with a 31-percent increase in horsepower (to 71.7), a significant increase in drum axle load (for more effective static-compaction finish rolling) and a dual-pump travel system (providing a 17-percent boost in maximum gradeability). List prices for these machines start at $75,700 for smooth-drum models and $92,100 for the padfoot with a leveling blade.
