Caterpillar AccuGrade Laser Grade Control System

Caterpillar's AccuGrade Laser Grade Control System is designed to assist dozer operators attain grade in fewer passes. The system is aimed at fine-grading applications and provides flat, single-slope or dual-slope surfaces to tolerances of ¼ inch, says the company. The system employs dual, blade-mounted laser receivers, and an in-cab display provides audio/visual references of the blade's position relative to the finished grade. The system can be operated in a manual mode, or in an automatic mode that commands the machine's hydraulic system to automatically position the blade.
