Bose Ride Seat

Sept. 28, 2010

The Bose Ride system replaces air-ride truck seats with a new kind of electromagnetic suspension base and integrated, custom-designed seat top. A high-power linear electromagnetic actuator and regenerative amplifier are capable of counteracting forces caused by road disturbances. Sensors and proprietary Bose control algorithms work together to direct the electromagnet to counterbalance road disturbances before they reach the driver.

A high-power linear electromagnetic actuator and regenerative amplifier are capable of counteracting forces caused by road disturbances. Sensors and proprietary Bose control algorithms work together to direct the electromagnet to counterbalance road disturbances before they reach the driver. Bose says its Ride can be installed by a trained mechanic in less than two hours, using existing seat bolts, air line, and tapping into the truck’s 12-volt power system.
