Bentley Systems, Inc. announced a strategic initiative to deliver Bridge Information Modeling (BrIM) technology for the entire bridge life cycle. BrIM will be a new business unit under Bentley’s senior vice president, Gabe Norona.

BrIM will provide broad access to newly acquired advanced bridge products in Bentley’s comprehensive software portfolio. The unit will integrate these and other related Bentley products to provide an interoperable, data-managed bridge solution for planning, design, engineering, analysis, fabrication, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation.

The technology will address the challenges of new and aging bridges and deliver sustainable, long-lasting infrastructure solutions. In the past year, Bentley extended its commitment to sustaining bridge infrastructure through acquisition of three bridge engineering and operations technology providers: TDV GmbH, LEAP Software and C.W. Beilfuss & Associates.

These additions and Bentley’s four original bridge software releases – Bridge RM, LEAP Bridge, Bridge Modeler and LARS, and SUPERLOAD – create streamlined workflow with increased productivity and the ability to effectively operate and manage bridge infrastructure.

All software technology will focus on bridge project delivery and sharing common bridge information models.
