John Deere brings an exclusive automatic-scraper-control system to the market. Here's how the company says it works: An operator engages AutoLoad with the push of a button at the beginning of a cut. Integrating the tractor with the scraper, the system automatically varies blade height according to draft load, wheel slippage and soil conditions. Then it is disengaged at the end of the cut through normal operation. The system is said to reduce operator fatigue and ensure maximum productivity. Estimated list price: $7,399 (tractor kit); $1,900 (scraper kit).
