Available in wheeled or tracked configurations, these pavers place hot-mix asphalt. Materials enters the paver via a hopper in front, and either gravity or conveyors move it to the rear. There, augers spread the asphalt in front of the screed, a smooth steel plate that sets thickness and grade. The screed consolidates the asphalt with heat and vibration.
