Top 100: Minimal Support Equipment

A new addition to Vermeer's HDD line is the D150x300 Navigator, the first HDD in the 100,000-plus-pound class to have a fully integrated climate-controlled two-person operator's station. The operator does all functions—including transport, drilling controls, crane and drilling-fluid controls—from the operator's station, minimizing support equipment and maximizing operator efficiency. The drill offers up to 30,000 foot-pounds of torque and 150,000 pounds of pullback capability using a 400-hp Cat C-12 engine. Estimated price: $600,000.
