Two (2) laminated pocket cards now available from the Epoxy Interest Group (EIG) of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) can be used as a reference for rebar fabrication, field handling and job-site repair.

The first reference card, Field Handling of Epoxy-Coated Reinforcing Bars, shows all the basic field instructions in these major categories: Truck Unloading, Storage, Job-Site Handling, Bar Placement, Bar Supports & Tie Wire, Field Cutting, Patching Material and Concrete Placement.

The second card, Fabrication Practices for Epoxy-Coated Reinforcing Bars, is a checklist of procedures for: Storage, Shearing & Bending, Patching Material, and Handling and Loading.

Both cards feature, on the reverse side, the four (4) steps necessary for the proper repair of damaged epoxy coating at the job-site. They include: cleaning, mixing of the patching material, application and curing.

Free cards are available, to request a sample, e-mail [email protected] or call 847-517-1200. Laminated for use in-plant or on-site, the cards are also punched so that they can be attached to outgoing rebar shipments for use by field personnel.
