Cummins Revenues up 12 Percent in Q4

Cummin’s fourth quarter revenues of $6.1 billion increased 12 percent from 2017. Increased truck production in North America and demand in power generation markets drove most of the revenue increase. Currency impacted revenues by 2 percent primarily due to a stronger U.S. dollar.

Q4 sales improved by 17 percent. Earnings in Q4 were $866 million, or 14.6 percent of sales, compared to $769 million or 14.0 percent of sales a year ago.

Net income for Q4 was $579 million compared to a net loss of $274 million last year. Full year net income was $2.1 billion, compared to $999 million in 2017. Revenues for the full year were $23.8 billion, 16 percent higher than 2017. Revenues in North America increased 19 percent, and international sales grew 12 percent, with growth in all major regions.
