Connecticut DPW and CT DPS Host Groundbreaking Ceremony

The Connecticut Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Raeanne V. Curtis and Department of Public Safety (DPS) Commissioner John A. Danaher III recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory, Phase III addition and renovation project in Meriden. Phase III consists of an $8-million addition to the Forensic Science Laboratory, and renovations to the existing facilities. The project consists of a 21,750-square-foot, two-story masonry and glass addition, similar in style to the existing wings of the facility.

The new space will house the Forensic Science photo imaging laboratory, toxicology wet laboratory, work stations, offices, and storage areas. The project is scheduled to be completed in fall 2009.
