Wacker's new line of premium portable generators incorporates a full-system ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) that protects all receptacles, including 120V and 240V twist-lock types. The system, says Wacker, is UL approved, meets National Electric Code requirements and monitors all outlets, tripping the main circuit breaker (which is designed to handle the total output of the unit) if current leakage is detected. In addition, the new models are designed for enhanced motor starting, the result of a rotating-field alternator with automatic voltage regulation and separate excitation winding. Estimated list price: $1,500 to $3,900.
