Police dog nabs purported skid steer thief

Alleged thief was armed when confronted by someone on the property.

A police dog tracked down an armed man who had allegedly attempted to steal a skid steer loader in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

The purported thief was confronted by a man living on the property, according to news reports, and fled.

The dog tracked the man for about a mile. The man surrendered when found.
