Undisclosed Crawl Space Topples Excavator

Deere 210G tips over as crawl space collapses.

An operator was unhurt when the excavator he was using to demolish a building tipped into a crawl space that had not been identified. The excavator was helping in the demolition of Baseline Feed Store in Warren, Michigan.

According to a report on Fox2 in Detroit, the Deere 210G excavator almost tipped over after the crawl space collapsed under its weight. Video shows the excavator being righted by two cranes.

Fox2 also interviewed Leo, at 1:45 on the video, who has been an operator for 30 years. He told Fox2 that he was “a little bit shaken up.”

According to news reports, the crew was able to return to work later that same day.
