Kennametal says its new road-ready milling drums are designed to increase efficiency and reduce equipment wear via computer-engineered designs that provide optimum asphalt grinding.

September 30, 2007

Kennametal says its new road-ready milling drums are designed to increase efficiency and reduce equipment wear via computer-engineered designs that provide optimum asphalt grinding. The new drums are designed and built to match all major OEM specifications and can be customized for a user’s specific needs. Non-welded fastener sleeves act as bearings for the tooth shank, allowing it to freely rotate. The tooth-and-sleeve design is intended to facilitate extraction with Kennametal hand tools, and installation of new teeth and sleeves is achieved using a Kennametal installation tool and a mid-weight hammer. A Road-Ready start-up kit supplies wedge pullers, flex drill, bucket of spare sleeves, a broken-sleeve removal tool, and tooth-extraction tools.
