Park Ridge, NJ – Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation (HERC) launches a new Trench Safety Services division, which expands the company’s equipment, products, and service offerings to support the safety of employees who work in excavations, utility installation and repair, and areas where shield or shoring protective systems are needed.

In addition to supplying products and equipment, HERC Trench Safety Services can help clients meet their safety training requirements. Through a Confined Space Safety program, HERC offers comprehensive training for clients who are new to confined space entry or need a review in safety training. The division also offers Excavation Safety and Competent Person Training classes recognized by the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) and will be taught locally by NUCA-trained instructors.

Additionally, each of Trench Safety Services’ branches has a team of trained specialists that work with sales staff—also trained—to troubleshoot clients’ excavation issues and help them develop safety-focused business solutions. Hertz can also provide to clients Site Specific Shoring Plans sealed/stamped by a registered/licensed Professional Engineer.
HERC Trench Safety currently has branches in Atlanta, Orlando, Jacksonville, Pompano Beach, Ft. Myers, and Tampa, FL; Raleigh, NC; and Nashville, TN. More locations are scheduled to open in markets throughout the South, Southwest and Northwest in 2008.
